Roofing
Thank You for considering Excel Further Construction for all your roofing needs. Our goal is to provide a great product and excellent experience for the home owner during the construction phase. The key is communication before and during each project, so please feel free at any time to speaker with a field supervisor if questions do arrive. Below are some helpful tips we would like you to review.
Vibration
It’s almost impossible to stop vibration when installing a new roof. So please be aware that it is possible for items on the wall such as pop corn texture, paint flakes and nail heads to be revealed in some areas. We do our very best to avoid these situations. But in the rare occasions this does happen, we cannot be liable.
Attics
We highly recommend covering any valuables in the attic during the replacing of a roof. It’s very common for shingle granules to slip the seams of the existing plywood during the demolition stage. Also during the application stage, shingles are nail with great force in order to penetrate the plywood as recommended. This can cause small to medium size splinters to fall onto the attic floor. This is an area that cannot be avoided. Where power attic vents are installed or replaced, it will be the customers responsibility to have the wiring connected, we are not a licensed electrician and cannot connect wiring due to insurance liability factors.
Ridge Vents
Cutting plywood is required to install ridge vents, this will create saw dust and cannot be avoided. We recommend covering or removing valuables away from this area to avoid any damage. If your home consists of gable end vent and we are installing ridge vents, it’s recommended to enclose the gable end for proper air flow to the ridge vent. We cannot be responsible improper air flow due to obstructions which will prohibit this.
Chimney/Misc
In reference to masonry chimney or brick walls above the roof line, Excel Further Roofing cannot be responsible for water leakage through motor joints cracks, brick, chimney top and chimney caps. We also do not take any responsibility for water leaks through cracks or openings in siding .It is also possible that Masonite siding above the roofline may deteriorate of swell due to the absorption of moisture over time, these boards can become soft and may have to be replaced. When installing new flashing behind Masonite siding, it is likely the deteriorated siding boards will break apart and need to be replaced. We cannot be responsible for this occurrence.
Skylights
If a skylight is to be removed or changed, we highly recommend moving any obstacles below and cover the area due some debris that may fall into the house. If the skylight is not to be replaced, please not the seals may fail which could result into leaks we cannot be responsible for. The only way to fix a skylight leak is to install a new skylight.
Satellite
We will reposition any satellite dish that is attached directly to the roof, we cannot be held responsible for any reception issues that may arise.
Dump Truck
Please have Vehicles Park off the driveway and away from the house to avoid any debris that may fall from the roof, as well as not being blocked by a dump truck that will need access to the driveway.
Additional Notes
Please take extra precaution with the noise factor i.e.: Children, pets etc. Please let us know of any special outside item that may need special attention, special deck, tree, fence or valuable item. Well will do our best to protect these items, but cannot be held responsible if in some rare occurrence damage may happen.
